Information

The Infoblatt_LAG_Englisch (pdf, German) provides comprehensive information about the degree structure of the L-GYM degree program and gives information about exams.

The module descriptions (Modulbeschreibungen) provide detailed tables of the module numbers, prerequisites, learning objectives, work loads and examinations for each module. The most recent versions of the module handbook can be found on Campo. The module descriptions on Campo include the extra regulations introduced because of the pandemic (Corona-Sonderregelungen). Due to recent technical problems with PDF-generation in Campo, the following versions (uploaded on October 10, 2022) are not up to date at the moment, but can still be consulted for looking up the module numbers:

  • Module descriptions Englisch L-GYM PO 20202 [for those students who took up their studies in the winter semester 2020/2021 or afterwards]
  • Module descriptions Englisch L-GYM PO 2012 [for those students who took up their studies before the winter semester 2020/2021]

The Orientierungshilfe_Englisches_Staatsexamen_ab_Herbst2021_konsolidiert offers guidance on the written state exam on linguistics, giving information about topics and suggestions for reading.

Application and Enrolment

In order to study with us, you need to apply for a place, enrol at the university and successfully complete an aptitude test.

  1. Online Application: Portal campo
  2. Enrolment (Einschreibung)
  3. Aptitude Test (Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren)

When you have passed the aptitude test, you can enrol for individual classes.

Students who have already completed modules or seminars in English and American Studies at other universities, or in other degree programs, may receive credits for these courses. Please contact Dr. Harald Zapf for further information.

Managing your studies

The FAU Student Records Office (Studentenkanzelei) helps you with any general questions regarding studying at FAU. Data for all of the University’s students is managed here.

Our Online platforms for organising your studies help you to create your study plan, see your grades, download seminar notes, manage e-mail addresses, catch up on lectures on the video portal and much more.

Campo allows you to register for exams, check your grades, and print out your official documents and certificate of enrolment.
