Date: 16. January 2026, 9:00 – 17. January 2026, 18:00
Student Conference "Iconic Animals" (16.1.2026-17.1.2026, 9-18 Uhr)
Animals are central to our lives. They are domesticated and used for clothing and food; incorporated into families as pets; hunted for subsistence and sport; deified in religions; and put on display in zoos and museums. This student conference focuses on iconic animals, i.e., animals with strong symbolic significance that embody particular ideas or concepts. As keynote speaker we welcome Simon Wiesgickl. He gives a talk about "Metamorphoses: Iconic Animals and Religion". Come along and discuss with us!
Everyone is welcome! (Our wonderful poster was designed by Emily Meuschke!)
