Prof. Dr. Heike Paul, chair of American Studies, has been selected by the Thomas Mann House Advisory Board as one of the twelve fellows for 2020. During her six-month stay at Thomas Mann’s former Los Angeles residence, she will investigate which narratives, practices, and iconographies in European-American cultural and political imaginaries give rise to what she calls “civic sentimentality.” For more information, see the Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House press release.
