Research interests:

I am a historical sociolinguist and my main areas of interest are in writer education, literacy, and standardisation. I have worked on Old, Middle and late-Modern English, and my particular focus is on physical manuscripts and digital humanities approaches. My current projects include investigations into the practices of Anglo-Saxon and post-Conquest scribes, multilingual glosses in medieval teaching texts, and letter-writing practices in eighteenth-century England.
