An international workshop on “Literary Value”, organized by Alexander Dunst (FAU) and Pieter Vermeulen (Leuven), is held in Erlangen this June. The workshop opens on June 20, 2025, at 6 p.m. s.t. in the Wassersaal of the Orangerie, including a keynote lecture by Peter Boxall (Oxford) on “The Value of Beauty”. The following day, the program continues with four consecutive panels on “The Circulation of Value”, “Forms of Value”, “The Value of No Value”, and “Genres of Value”, with talks by international guests – Maria Mäkelä (Tampere), Madhu Krishnan (Bristol), Günther Leypoldt (Heidelberg), Pieter Vermeulen (Leuven), Arne De Boever (Los Angeles), Nathan Taylor (Frankfurt), and Natalya Bekhta (Tampere) – as well as local contributors from the Department of English and American Studies at FAU, Alexander Dunst, Antje Kley, and Gerold Sedlmayr.
